In order to create exact copies of your home or lawfully acquired DVDs or to convert those movies into more portable formats, MacX DVD Ripper Pro For Windows combines all the required decrypting, backup, and conversion features in one single tool. The program removes all existing copy protections and lets you either clone the entire disc or to select the titles you wish to carry with you.
Users of WinX DVD Ripper Platinum will find no difference between that tool and MacX DVD Ripper Pro For Windows. The same happens with WinX DVD Ripper for Mac users and those who use MacX DVD Ripper Pro. Actually, I don’t think there is any essential difference among all four tools when it comes to their DVD ripping capabilities, program interface, and most of its overall functionality.
Behind these somehow confusing names, Digiarty Software offers you an excellent tool to preserve an exact copy of your favorite home-made movies or any of your commercial DVDs (regrettably, Blu-rays are not supported). The program offers you a wide range of profiles, both to back up and to convert your DVD movies. The “DVD Backup” option will copy an entire disc or a selected title, be it the main feature or any of the extras on the DVD. If you wish to make a full backup of the disc (menus and extras included), you’ll have to check all the boxes first, as the program checks the main feature only by default. The “conversion profiles” are classified by device and format, and in all cases you can further tweak and fine-tune a number of settings pertaining to the profile selected. Besides, the program will remember your recently-used profiles, so that you don’t have to go through the entire list again.
The program can create DVD folders and ISO files, and – as mentioned – convert your videos into any of the most common formats used by your portable devices. You can also play your discs or files to ensure that you’ve selected the right one, take snapshots of your favorite frames, merge all selected files into one, add subtitles, tag the output video, and perform basic edits to it before conversion, such as trimming or cropping. The program is updated regularly to make sure that even the newest DVDs can be easily decrypted and backed up regardless of the technology used.

The weak point is lacking direct support; only technical support is available via e-mail.
On the other hand, the software has limited editing tools, and its preview function seems a bit useless.
sometimes seems to hang but easily fixed with restart
